Dominica Ready for Under 15 Tournament

Call them young or maybe inexperienced, however the Coach and Manager of Dominica’s under 15 National Cricket team, Mr. Fernix Thomas, is of the view that the young men are ready for action.

The team, wrapping up after a month’s practice, will leave the Island on Tuesday April 2nd 2013, to travel to St. Vincent, where they will put their skills to the test in an under 15 cricket competition.

Mr. Thomas says he has confidence in the team comprising of young men from various schools Island-Wide.

At the beginning of training there were 40 cricketers said Mr. Thomas, however as practice continued they had to narrow the list to the 13, to ensure the best players were chosen to be a part of the team.

Two reserves were also selected to fill the spot of any player that may be injured during the competition.

Mr. Thomas noted that preparations have been good thus far.

The Coach stated that the attitude and mentality of the young men have been positive and are well disciplined as they always show respect to each other and persons in authority.

The tournament will run until April 11th 2013.

The tournament comprises of teams from Grenada, St. Vincent and St. Lucia.

Mr. Thomas is appealing to the public to continue supporting the team of positive young men.
