Dominica Records a Reduction In The Number Of HIV/AIDS Cases for 2009
A number of activities geared towards sensitizing the public are scheduled to mark World AIDS Day which will be observed tomorrow Wednesday 1st, December, 2010. The Dominican ‘twist’ to the theme this year is ‘Universal Access and Human Rights: Your Right To Know, Your Right To Treatment, Do Something About It’.
Mrs. Julie Frampton, Coordinator of The National HIV/AIDS Coordinating Unit, gave an overview on some of the many activities that are scheduled to take place this week in collaboration with The Bureau of Gender Affairs and The Dominica National Council Of Women (DNCW).
While Dominica has recorded a reduction in the number of HIV/AIDS cases for the year 2009, Mrs. Julie Frampton is urging the public to come in and get tested in order to allow accuracy of further information. She said that testing will be free and has been free for the last five years.
