Dominica to participate in OECS Communications Workshop
A six-person delegation of public and private sector representatives, left Dominica on Tuesday October 8th, to participate in an OECS – Organization of Eastern Caribbean States, Integration Spokespersons Workshop in Grenada.
The delegates are – Mr. Mathew Leblanc of the Labour Division, Ms. Miranda Ackie of the Caricom Single Market Economy Facilitation Unit, Ms. Kelly Ann Williams of Discover Dominica Authority and Ms. Hilda Kelshall of the Dominica Association of Industry and Commerce.
Other participants are Ms. Claudia Walter of the Regional Integration and Diaspora Unit and Ms. Nadège Roach of the National Youth Council.
During that time, they will focus on an array of communications topics including; understanding the media, fundamentals of communication, and the art of public speaking.
His Excellency Felix Gregoire, Ambassador to the OECS and CARICOM, in endorsing Dominica’s participation stated, “It is important that we have a cadre of spokespersons, capable of articulating the advantages of regional integration, in a clear and concise manner. This workshop should prove invaluable in furtherance of this objective.”
Upon their return, the individuals should be better able to explain the benefits of the OECS Economic Union and regional integration in general.
