Dominica welcomes over twenty (20) yachts to its shores
Dominica officially welcomed approximately twenty (20) yachts to its shores, as it prepares to host the 21st annual Karibik Yachting Trophy.
Dominica was selected to host a leg of the event, following discussions at ITB Berlin in 2009 between officials of Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) and Mr. Hartmut Holtmann, Managing Director of KH+B Yacht Charter.
While greeting the yachters at a welcome reception, which was held at the Riverside Restaurant and Bar in Picard, Portsmouth on Monday November 22nd, Chief Executive Officer of Dominica Air and Seaport Authority (DASPA) Mr. Benoit Bardouille said that it is indeed an honor to be host the yachters for the next three (3) days.
He urged them to “reach out and explore the island’s flora, fauna and its culture and to take full advantage of the time spent here.”
Several tour operators also received the opportunity to present their tours to the tourists.
Among them was Andrew O’Brien of Cobra Tours who encouraged the visitors to explore the island, as he boasted of some of the island’s natural attributes.
The yachts will depart Dominica on November 24th for the other leg of the event in Les Saintes.
