Dominican Artists and Poets thrill the crowd at the first-ever Contemporary Arts and Poetry Night
Poetry from two young female poets, Monelle Alexis and Shenel Jolly formed part of the first-ever contemporary arts and poetry night, which took place at The Ruins in Roseau on December 7th, 2010.
The event, which was the first of its kind in Dominica, was spearheaded by arts teacher, Marvin Fabien, who is also an artist, musician and poet.
The organizer says the event, which was held under the theme ‘the absolute presence’ was aimed at combining arts and poetry.
This, he believes would serve as a form of motivation for many of Dominica’s young, talented artists.
There were also performances by drummers Ras Algi and Scar Face, poet Ras Akoma and musician and artist, Free Joseph, along with poet and musician Marvin Fabien and friends.
