Dominican Author Launches Book

vlcsnap-2014-04-07-18h17m41s233In October and November of 2013, Author, Delroy Registe published three books in the United States with Xulon Press, based in Florida and on Sunday April 6th, he launched these books in Dominica, at the Public Service Union.

The books entitled: Twenty Powerful Messages for Today’s Living, When I Broke My Leg and Valuable Security were published, produced, marketed and distributed by the company.

Mr. Registe revealed that it was very challenging to write three books while ill.

“An injured man writing three books on his bed. It was not an easy thing.  It took a whole lot from me” he said.

Despite his prompt thinking and writing skills, there is always a setback whenever money is involved. The challenge in Mr. Registe’s case was the cost of marketing and publishing.

“The cost of publishing, distributing, marketing, production is very high.”

According to the author, over $50,000 had to be spent to have it published.

In the past, the author has overcome major challenges, which he hopes to share with inmates at the Dominica State Prison.

“Every week I have two sessions with a group of prisoners.” 257 prisoners have already enrolled in the programme.

Upon completion, all participants will receive a certificate of participation.

Mr. Guiste also hinted at the idea of incorporating secondary school students from third to fifth form into a similar programme.

The book can be purchased online from Amazon, Barns & Nobles, Xulon Press and Google.
