Dominican-born Dr Cletus Roy Georges to focus on men’s health this weekend
Amidst all the carnival activities, Dominican-born Dr Cletus Roy Georges, a urologist based in Orlando, Florida will be focusing on men’s health this weekend, when the health ministry department of the East Caribbean Conference of Seventh Day Adventist host their men’s health forum.
The forum, which is scheduled to begin at 3:00pm at the St Joseph SDA church, is part of an annual program for men organized by the ministry of the Seventh-Day Adventist church.
Health Coordinator, nurse Priscilla Prevost says the forum will increase the awareness on pertinent health issues affecting men on the island.
Nurse Prevost says such a forum is critical, especially as prostate cancer is responsible for high mortality rates among Dominican men.
She emphasized the need for early detection, as it relates to prostate cancer or enlarged prostate cases in Dominica.
The program will be repeated at the fort young hotel on Monday, February 21st, 2011 at 6:00pm.
At the end of both sessions, the men will have the opportunity to register for screening and consultation in March, 2011.
