Dominican students celebrate the 227th birthday of Simon Bolivar

Dominican students joined the Venezuelan Institute last weekend to celebrate the 227th birthday of Venezuela’s liberator, Simon Bolivar.

 

Simon Bolivar who was born in Caracas on July 24th, 1783, is well known by students all over the world for his role in liberating the spanish-speaking country, Venezuela centuries ago.

 

Last week Saturday, ALBA nations joined Venezuela and its allies in celebrating the birthday of Simon Bolivar with various activities held by the respective countries.

 

While many students are currently on vacation, a contingent gathered at the Simon Bolivar square in Goodwill where they were enlightened on his life.

 

Venezuela’s Ambassador to Dominica, Her Excellency Carmen Martinez De Grijalva said that this celebration means a lot to Venezuela, as their president values his country’s relationship with Dominica.
