Dominican Tourism Specialist Kelly-Ann Williams Honored By CHTA Education Foundation & Virgin Holidays
The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) Education Foundation, on Thursday June 13th, was delighted to honour Kelly-Ann Williams, Product Development Assistant at Discover Dominica Authority.
Ms. Williams received “Screw Business As Usual”, a book written by Sir Richard Branson, and a Dominica Destination Package on behalf of Virgin Holidays, a strong corporate partner of the Caribbean Hotel and Torism Association Education Foundation for 9-years.
She thought the book very timely, as she wished to remain fresh and relevant in her thinking & practice centered around the business of Tourism within the Product Development arena, and not allow herself to become ‘institutionalized’.
In 2005, Kelly-Ann was the first to be awarded a Virgin Holidays scholarship of US$30,000.00. This enabled her to study at Florida International University, graduating in 2009 with her Bachelors in Hospitality & Tourism Management.
Virgin Holidays, along with past CHTAEF Chairman, Tom Pas, attended her Graduation and led the cheers.
Kelly-Ann expressed gratitude to the CHTAEF and Virgin Holidays for their critical financial support and their continued interest and connection with her, without which studying abroad would not have been possible.
