Dominicans to Benefit from New Campaign by Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) For Carnival

RoyerDominicans will be benefitting from a new campaign by Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) for Carnival 2013.

This campaign was launched in the effort to drive Dominicans to return for Carnival.

Ms. Nikima Royer Jno Baptiste, Head of Marketing of Discover Dominica Authority, says this is the second time that the DDA will be promoting the “Bring – A – Friend” campaign.

She said that the campaign which started in 2012 for the Independence Season, is aimed at encouraging more visits to the island during the Carnival Season.

Ms. Jno Baptiste pointed out; this time Dominicans coming home for Carnival will be the beneficiaries of this new initiative.

The campaign seeks to urge the diaspora community in the Caribbean region, the USA, Canada, UK and other parts of the world to “Bring a Friend” when they travel to Dominica and in return, receive a coupon book for discounts at participating service providers.

The coupon book is an incentive for returning Dominicans and their visiting friends to spend and contribute to the local economy.

The Head of Marketing of the DDA pointed out that some of the discounts are  “buy one get one free for a friend”, “buy one at full price and get one 50% off for a friend”, and other applicable discounts.

Information gathered through research shows Dominicans living abroad travel to the Island largely during the festive seasons.

Ms. Jno. Baptiste says this is the perfect opportunity for them to explore the Island and experience some of the cuisine, tours, and activities that the Island has to offer.

The DDA will seek to partner with local service providers to provide discounts on their services from February 1st to 15th, 2013.

Persons planning to visit the Island during this time are asked to register on-line on to reserve their coupon books while supplies last.

Upon arrival at the port of entry, visitors should visit the Tourism Information office/desk for further details on how to collect their coupon books.

The DDA would like to reach out to the diaspora communities and ask that they continue to be ambassadors to the Nature Island, by inviting their friends and colleagues to experience the Nature, Culture and Adventure of the Nature Island.
