Dominicans training for Windward Island games
Basketball training have commenced for a number of young ladies and young men from various High Schools, which will participate in the Windward Islands Secondary School Games which will take place in Grenada later this year.
Acting Senior Sports Officer at the Sports Division, Mr. Yehudi John After this training there will also be a post competition training programme for the students.
Mr. John pointed out two players who have exceptional talent, which he is delighted to have on the team, which are; Ms. Rael Felix of the Convemt High School (CHS) and Ms. Shernel St. Rose of the Wesley High School (WHS).
13 year old second former Ms. Felix says she have always like playing basketball, and will continue to do so since she enjoys the sport.
Ms. Felix says she always take pride in what she does and practices a lot, even when tired she will push herself to the limit to get things done.
Ms. St. Rose from Stockfarm who is much taller than Ms. Felix says she is looking forward to making her country proud at the games.
Ms. St. Rose pointed out that since she is tall, the sport of basketball suits her very well and she uses her height as an advantage.
Mr. John said that there was a panel that made the selection of players to attend the training.
