Dominica’s very own coffee plant, as revealed by Prime Minister Honourable Roosevelt Skerrit will be completed by July of this year.

He made the statement at the inauguration of the Tan Tan/Toucarie/Savanne Paille/Cottage Village Council on Thursday February 27th 2014.

Mr. Skerrit said, the coffee processing plant will provide significantly to Dominica’s economy.

“That coffee plant will come to a completion at the end of July 2014 and I give you the assurances that that coffee plant will grind and package coffee and export it to other countries all over the Caribbean and Latin America”.

Mr. Skerrit stressed that the plant will create employment for Dominicans.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the Plant was signed in 2010 between Dominica and Venezuela for the construction of the plant.

The plant will be located in One Mile in Portsmouth and is being constructed by the Government of Venezuela.
