Dominica’s President to address Parliament on Wednesday; UWP to boycott
Dominica’s Head of State, H. E Dr. Nicholas J.O Liverpool is expected to address the Opening of Parliament, which will be held at the House of Assembly on Wednesday, June 29th, from 10:00am.
Apart from the President’s address, the 2011/2012 Budget will also be presented, when Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit address the First Meeting of the Second Session of the Eighth Parliament under the 1978 Constitution.
The prime minister is expected to move a motion for approval of estimates of expenditure for the financial year ending June 30th, 2010, amounting to $432,598,384.
Meanwhile, the Opposition United Workers Party (UWP) has hinted that they will hold a special gathering outside of Parliament on Wednesday.
The opposition says their move is part of protest action against malpractices by the Roosevelt Skerrit-led administration.
