“Seventy-five years old and still counting” were the words uttered by General Secretary of the Dominica Public Service Union, Thomas Letang on the night of Wednesday April 30th 2014, as the Organization held its 7th Biennial Delegates Conference under the theme, “Celebrating Our Achievements, Shaping Our Future.”

He noted the many achievements of the DPSU began with the early pioneers and stalwarts, who though faced with criticism, victimization and or isolation stood steadfast in the fight against injustice and unfairness.

Meanwhile President of the DPSU, Steve Joseph questioned the drive of the members and their saving habits, which he highlighted need to be better managed.

He warned the membership as they seek to shape the future, they must not be complacent or docile, but strong, firm and united.

Joseph also said they must remeber the employees of the Public Works Corporation, the Fire Service, and the Dominica Solid Waste Management Corporation in addition to the wider public service.
