Drowning Incident at Layou River
The police are conducting investigations into an incident at Layou that left one Chinese national dead and another missing.
Police Public Relations Officer Inspector John Carbon reported that, on Sunday June 16th, a group of five Chinese nationals were casting fishing net in the river mouth at Layou.
Suddenly, two members of the group encountered difficulty, as they could not swim and submerged in the water.
60 year old, Mr. Zufu Kun, who resided at Goodwill, was fished out of the Layou River Mouth at about 6:20 pm.
He was in an unconscious state.
The body was transported to the Princess Margaret Hospital Accident and Emergency Department, where it was pronounced dead upon arrival.
A coroner’s inquest will be convened and a post mortem will follow.
Meanwhile, the search is ongoing for 24 year old Mr. Yang Kang, who also resided at Goodwill.
Investigations are continuing.
