DSC awards students for their involvement in the 2011 carnival celebrations


The Dominica State College (DSC) held a prize giving and award ceremony at its Stockfarm Campus on Wednesday March 23rd, 2011 in an effort to award the many students who made a meaningful contribution to Dominica’s carnival celebrations.


President of the Dominica State College, Dr. Donald Peters says this is just one of their many ways of saying thank you to the students who participated in the 2011 Carnival celebrations.


The President also took the opportunity to encourage other students to participate in the various national celebrations.


Prizes were awarded to Tasha Peltier ; the reigning Calypso Monarch of Dominica as well as to Miss DSC Jamboree 2011 Daina Matthew, the first runner up Zethra Baron, second runner up Normanna Jno Baptiste and to the third runner up Terisa Lewis.


Dwannella James who captured the award for best spectacular wear at the 2011 Miss Jamboree Pageant was also among the students who were awarded.
