Emergency Care and Treatment
The Ministry of Health in collaboration with the Pan American Health Organisation (PAHO) conducted its 2nd Emergency Care and Treatment training workshop, held at the Office of Disaster Management in Jimmit, on Monday 18th November.
The workshop targets fire and ambulance personnel and aims to enhance their skills and knowledge to enable them to respond more efficiently to disasters or emergencies.
It is hoped that this continuous training will be instrumental in ensuring adequate emergency plans are in place and validated.
Mrs. Royer highlighted Joslie Prince’s show of heroism, during the tragic accident that claimed the lives of National Coach and footballer, Kirt Hector and Nooran Jno Hope.
She commended his efforts and bravery, saying “he saved our country from what could have been a national catastrophe”.
Meanwhile, Peter Burgess, Facilitator of the Workshop, told the trainees that they are in for a hard week.
This he says, will be a strict course, noting that it benefits both the individuals and the country.
