Emmanuel Nanthan Elected Vice President of WICB
The newly elected Vice President has contributed greatly to the development of cricket in Dominica and the West Indies.
He currently holds titles as the President of the Dominica Cricket Association and President of the Windward Islands Cricket Board of Control.
Mr. Nathan said he is fortunate and proud to be a part of advancing the development of West Indies cricket.
The Vice President called for the support of everyone to enhance cricket in whatever way possible.
We should leave the past in the past says Mr. Nanthan and bring people of the region together, mobilization, strengthening and getting the support of all.
Mr. Nanthan beat Barbados Cricket Association President Joel Garner, 8-4.
Jamaican businessman Mr. Dave Cameron was elected president of the West Indies Cricket Board, beating incumbent Dr. Julian Hunte in a close vote at the Annual General Meeting in Barbados.
Cameron, who previously served as Vice-President to Hunte, won 7-5 to ensure the change of guard in one of the Caribbean’s most prestigious bodies.
Cameron said that he is happy and feel extremely blessed to be leading this impressive body.
Cameron, who comes to the post with over ten years of WICB experience, campaigned on promises to improve the Board’s financial viability and increase the involvement of the region’s corporate sector.
He said he was now prepared for this challenge as well as that of uniting West Indies cricket while charting a path for the success of the Regional West Indies team.
The election of Cameron ended Hunte’s bid for a fourth successive two-year term and marks the second major administrative change in West Indies cricket within the last seven months.
