‘Fast food is becoming an issue in Dominica says nutritionist Marynese Titre
‘The constant absorption of fast food is becoming a problem in Dominica while the fight to reduce non-communicable diseases continues’.
The red flag was raised by nutritionist at the Ministry of Health, Ms Marynese Titre, while delivering an address at a local cuisine lecture at the Alliance Francaise building last evening.
The lecture formed part of activities marking the 2010 independence celebrations and came on the eve of the observance of ‘united against hunger day which was declared by the United Nations.
‘Grow what we eat and eat what we grow’…Ms Titre said that she’s been hearing this for decades, but the freedom of choice continues to make the challenge even more difficult.
A food exhibition also formed part of the local cuisine lecture.
