Fire Officers Completes First Respeonders Training Programme
It was a proud day for the fire and ambulance services in collaboration with Caribbean Emergency Response Training Academy (CERTA) as a closing ceremony was held on Wednesday, September 26th to recognize their achievements.
Chief Fire Officer, Josiah Dupuis says the 2 and half weeks have been pretty tense because the Officers had to cover 26 chapters in 10 days.
However, Mr. Dupuis says 2 participants received 100% in the exam.
CERTA instructor Mr. Ron Mobley says he must recognized the Fire Officers hard work, dedication, effort and extra time that they all put in to go out and properly asses the scene for their safety and the safety of others.
Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Health Mrs. Helen Royer says she is confident that the training will benefit the fire officers.
Mrs. Royer also added that she is happy that the course included topics such as pregnancy and childbirth.
Minister for National Security, Labour and immigration Hon. Alvin Bernard says commitment is a scarce virtue therefore the Fire Officers should consider themselves exceptional.
He also says that he believes that the citizens of Dominica are better off for it because neither their personal or national development is possible without it.
