First Ever Creole Evangelique Event to be held in Dominica in October
As Dominica gets set to officially launch the opening of the 2011 Independence celebrations this Saturday, organizers of the first ever Creole Evangelique are also finalizing their preparations for the staging of the event next month.
The event, which will be staged at the Newtown Savannah on October 21st, 2011, is being organized by the Gospel Light Temple Church in Loubiere.
Pastor of the Church, Mr Rodrick Gilbert said that the aim of the event is two-fold; to give God thanks in Creole while promoting Dominica’s local cuisine through one of their fund-raising events.
The ‘family-oriented’ event will begin with the sale of Creole dishes from 12 noon to 3:00pm followed by Creole renditions in song, drama and skits by various church groups.
Pastor Gilbert said that a number of well-known gospel artists will be featured at the event including renowned Creole gospel artist; Foster Xavier.
Entrance to the event is absolutely free however patrons will be asked to make a small contribution at the gates.
Pastor Gilbert is calling on Dominicans to support the event as we celebrate our 33rd Anniversary of Independence under the theme; Celebrating 33; joining hands in unity.
The organizers are hoping to host the event annually.
