First ever Creole Food Fest and Fashion show s is scheduled to take flight on Friday October, 2010
Most of you may not be aware of the new additions to this year’s 32nd Independence Celebrations which is being introduced by the Cultural Division to ensure that every Dominican, especially the youth, par take in the various cultural events. Among them are the first ever Creole Food Fest and Fashion Show which will be held at the St Gerald’s Hall on Friday October 22nd 2010 from 6 pm. While speaking to SAT TV News on October 19th 2010, Chief Cultural Officer, Mr Raymond Lawrence said that this event compliments Dominica History Week which was celebrated on October 11th to the 15th 2010 under the theme, “local cuisine, mange kweyol.”Lawrence mentioned that this event is geared at providing different groups with the opportunity to showcase their various cultural fashion styles and that one lucky charitable organization will receive some of the proceeds of the event. The Chief Cultural Officer said that this event is not one which depicts a formal atmosphere however provides an ambiance made for socializing and mingling.
