First Ever Dominica’s Next Super Model Competition

Many times youths are targeted for lack of productivity in society; but it is inspiring to see young people formulate ideas and actually turn them into a reality.

Former Miss Dominica Pageant Contestant, Ruth Agustine is the founder and CEO of Dominica’s Next Super Model Inc. Her non-profit organization is looking to recruit models in Dominica to become brand ambassadors on an international level.

Miss Agustine said that her inspiration to establish this organization came about when aspiring models would seek advice from her as to how they should market themselves on an international level.

The goals of DNSM Inc. is to endorse cooperation among the Caribbean Region, in creative arts namely modeling, fashion and beauty, partnering with Government and Cooperative organizations to create an awareness of youth empowerment, development and economic growth.

Miss Agustine had this to say about the upcoming competition of DNSM.

Miss Agustine says the company’s major objective is to train, sensitize and educate people between the ages of 16- 30 to be successful within the modeling industry.

The twelve competitors for this competition are: Gholda James from Pointe Michel, Fancille Lavinier from Pichelin, Kersha Breezie from Mero Village, Earlisha Yinka Brumant from Paix Bouche, Nicole Morson, Talia Celestine from Vieille Case, Miss Lynah “Lena” JoeAnna Bontiff, from the village of Calibishie, Shaina Simon from Goodwill, LaToya Langlais from St. Joseph, Reshema James from Portsmouth, Stevia Christopher from Pond Casse and Veda Phillip from goodwill.

Miss Agustine said that there will be a cash prize for the winner as well as appearances in different fashion shows around the Caribbean for an entire year. She plans to make this event an annual one.

Ruth encouraged our youths to pursue their dreams regardless.
