Four to Compete for Title of Miss Marigot Ambassador 2013
Four young ladies will take the stage on Sunday February 10th, where they will compete for the title of Miss Marigot Ambassador 2013.
This event was organized and planned by the Mas Marigot Carnival Committee.
Member of the Committee Ms. Jenise Mills, stated that the Committee comprises of a group of young persons with a theme of “Are We Son Dat,” which translates into “It belongs to all of us.”
She says the aim of the group is to bring the community closer together through unity, as the villagers work together to build the village of Marigot.
Each of the young ladies will in various segments showcase activities or things under the theme, to inform the public on ways they can unite.
The contestants will also choose a project they will showcase for the upcoming year until Carnival 2014.
She said this pageant is very important when it comes to unity, as it will inform the public on how unity can be integrated in different themes so the community members can see.
One contestant Ms. Davis will show how unity can be showcased through communication, in her presentation, and her talent, so we can have an idea of how it was and how it should be.
There will be an introduction segment where the contestants will discuss the project they plan to carry out for the year, the creative segment, the swimwear segment, talent segment and the question and answer segment.
Ms. Mills stated that the young ladies are very enthusiastic about the show and the practice sessions have been going smoothly.
They have also been working very hard to raise funds for the show which shows their dedication Ms. Mills stated.
On the night of the event she is of the view that the audience will be impressed beyond their expectations.
She said unity is not just about one person, it is about everyone.
Therefore if we communicate and come together as one, the residents will make Marigot one of the best communities in Dominica.
The pageant will take place on the hard court in Weirs, Marigot and will begin at 8 pm.
Ms. Mills says they are planning to have the winner presented as a candidate for the Miss Dominica 2014 Pageant.
