Giraudel/Eggleston Flower Growers Group Inc Launches their Flower Show and Market Fair as Part of their 40th Anniversary

The Giraudel and Eggleston Flowers Group Inc launched their 2013 Flower Show and Market Fair On Thursday May 2nd, at the Flower Show Site in Giraudel.

An opening ceremony was also held for the Flower Show Building.

Mrs. Stephanie Royer, President of the Giraudel and Eggleston Flower Growers Group, classified the event as a joyous moment and this is another achievement based on their spirit of cooperation.

A moment of silence was observed in remembrance of the deceased Ms. Marvlyn Robinson, who was part of the group.

Chief Cultural Officer, Mr. Raymond Lawrence, informed the group that their new venue will definitely facilitate the staging of the flower show.

He said, it provides a covered indoor space for their creative floral displays, which Giraudel and Eggleston have become known for.

Honorable Ambrose George, Parliamentary Representative, said both communities are recognized for their flower shows, however their hospitality, strong cooperative spirits, volunteerism, production of fruits and vegetables must be commended

Mr. George classified the group as the “flower basket” of Dominica.

Prime Minister, Honorable Rooosevelt Skerrit, noted there is absolutely no reason, why we should import flowers into Dominica.
