‘Go Green Roseau’ campaign to be held at Peebles Park this Saturday

The importance of service, volunteerism and keeping the environment clean will be the topic of discussion at the commencement of a ‘go green campaign’, which will be held at the Peebles Park in Roseau on Saturday, April 9th, 2011 at 9:00am.

The event will culminate a week of activities held in Dominica to observe the 50th anniversary of Peace Corps volunteers.

The ‘Go Green Roseau’ campaign will see the participation of Peace Corps volunteers and youth across the country, as they undertake a unity clean-up event.

Peace Corps volunteer Alex Sheldon says that the event is open to the general public.

Speakers down to address the opening include Mr. Atherton Martin, Mr. Alvin Alexander and Mr. Marcus Francis.

There are currently 27 Peace Corps volunteers living and working in Dominica.
