Government offers a $ 20,000.00 reward for any information leading to Shanice’s safe return


In an attempt find Shanice Jemmot, a 15 year old teenager of Layou who has been missing for approximately one month now, the Government of Dominica is offering a $20,000 reward to anyone with information leading to her safe return.


Jemmot, who disappeared without a trace on Thursday February 17th, 2011, spent her 15th birthday away from home last Sunday.

Parliamentary Representative for the community of Layou, Honourable Kelver Darroux says the government is pleased to be stepping up its efforts to ensure Shanice’s safe return.


According to him, the government has also partnered with the french authorities, having received reports that she may be in the neighboring French island of Guadeloupe.


Honourable Darroux says the government is also concerned about persons who are giving false information regarding Shanice’s whereabouts.


The $20,000.00 that is being offered by the government brings the total reward up for Jemmot’s safe return to $35,000.00 with $10,000.00 being pledged by her uncle who is residing in St. Croix and $5,000.00 coming from the private sector.
