Government to Assist DSC Students Based on Academic Performance
Education Minister Petter St. Jean, in an address to focus on Government and Development last night, announced changes to the Government’s assistance programme for students at the Dominica State College (DSC)
Mr. St. Jean said tuition fees will now be granted based on students’ performance, highlighting that in 2010 to 2011 the Government spent $187,800.00 in grants.
According to Mr. St. Jean, in order to qualify for paid tuition for the second semester, students must maintain a GPA OF 2.5.
He also revealed that over three million dollars was made available in text books between 2010to 2013.
Registration fees for Secondary School students amounted to $60,000.00 for 2010 to 2013, while examination fees through the education trust fund totalled $82,100.00.
