Government Working on Final Designs for State of the Art Hospital
Acting Prime Minister Honourable Reginald Austrie says the Government is working on the final designs for the state of the art Hospital for Dominica.
He said when this is completed; Dominicans will be informed on the next phase of the process in moving forward.
Mr. Austrie noted, at this point a contract for the construction of the Hospital has not been identified.
He Minister said they have considered two possible sites to include the existing Princess Margaret Hospital and the Warner site, which he believes has sufficient land space.
Some of the issues identified include water supply, access and temperature; however, the Minister was unable to venture further into detail.
A date of construction neither timeframe for its completion was mentioned as Mr. Austrie noted at this point he does not have such information.
Prime Minister Honourable Roosevelt Skerrit previously stated that Warner should be considered as a possible location for the construction of the new state of the art Hospital, which will be funded by the Chinese Government.
He also proposed that, the Princess Margaret Hospital be transformed into a type-three hospital that will cater for the health needs of citizens from Roseau and environs.
