Gov’t approves over $ 150,000.00 for the rehabilitation of feeder roads in Woodford Hill
The Prime Minister of Dominica will make approximately $150,000.00 to the Woodford Hill Village Council for the improvements of feeder roads in the community.
The Prime Minister made this announcement while addressing the Seventeenth Inaugural Meeting of the Woodford Hill Village Council, held at the Woodford Hill Primary School on Monday April 11th, 2011.
Incoming Chairman Mr. Joseph Russell says it has always been his goal to assist wherever possible hence the reason why he gladly accepted the challenge to serve as chairman of the village council when the opportunity presented itself.
According to him, one of his major objectives is the overall development of the Woodford Hill community.
Parliamentary Representative for the area, Honourable Gloria Shillingford says she is elated that the youth have made themselves available to serve on one of the most experienced village councils on the island.
This, she believes augurs well for the continuity of this significant local government entity.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister of Dominica and Minister of Finance Honourable Roosevelt Skerrit says as Prime Minister, he takes full responsibility for some of the concerns raised by the chairman and the fact that the government in some regard, has not been forthcoming in its response to their many requests.
