Hana Raffoul captures title 2013 Mademoiselle Francophonie
Ms. Hana Raffoul of the Convent Prepartory School, has captured the very first Mademoiselle Francophonie title on Sunday March 31st, at the Arawak House of Culture.
Nine beautiful young ladies participated in the pageant and Ms. Raffoul won the award for the best Francophonie wear.
The general concept of the pageant was to expose the young ladies to other countries’ traditions and culture. They wore traditional wear of the country they were representing and Ms. Raffoul represented Lebanon.
Ms. Precious Riviere of the St. Martin Primary School was 1st runner up, and Ms. McKail Phillip of the Pioneer Preparatory who represented Senegal, was 2nd runner up.
Sherenn LeBlanc of the Penville Primary school 3rd runner up.
Ms. Riviere won the Miss Amity award, Ms. Jamoia Bruno of the Goodwill Primary School won Miss photogenic and the French fashion wear award.
President of the Primary French Committee, Ms. Solange Payne, said the students had to produce a casual wear that includes the colors of the French flag.
Ms. Maquelle Phillip of the Pioneer Prep won the award for the best French oral presentation and Ms. Neera Jno Baptiste of the Warner Primary School won the talent round.
The Government of Dominica, Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development, complemented the students on “a job well done”.
