Illegal Drug Problem At State Prison
Parliamentary Representative for the Roseau South Constituency Honourable Ambrose George, is urging the newly launched Estate Visioneers youth group to ensure they keep making positive impacts on their community, and for their own personal development.
Mr. George made this statement at the official launching ceremony of the youth group, which was held at the Bath Estate Community Center in Bath Estate.
Mr. George says that the fact the young persons decide to come together to form this group is a positive move and that other communities should look forward to and to cherish, since there is room for a lot more youth groups to be formed.
President of the group Ms. Sariah Joseph says the group which was formed by Ms. Laura Federick and Ms. Samara Etienne, sees every educational and social skill building opportunity presented to them, since their motto is “Building Selves and Community”.
Ms. Joseph also said that the group participated in a community leadership course dealing with subjects such as attitude and values, team building and motivation.
In addition the group members took a four day training course at the Red Cross, where they became certified Community Disaster Response Team (CDRT), where they also received their certificates at the launching.
