Jenel Fabien Receives Best Practices Award
Best Practices Award from the Council of Family and Child Caring Agencies (COFCCA) in the USA last month.
Each year, the Child Welfare Fund of NYC and COFCCA honor professionals who work with children and their families in child welfare with respect to compassion and commitment.
The awards recognize and reward on-going exceptional work to empower families and protect children.
They also seek to encourage, inspire and include the entire child welfare community to renew its efforts to best serve parents, children, and families.
Ms. Fabien was one of the 10 persons recognized at the March 29 celebratory event attended by the Child Welfare Community, including ACS Commissioner Ron Richter
She made her agency proud by being the first ever to receive this award on behalf of the Agency. Directors from all branch agencies, the agency CEO and staff came out to support Ms. Fabien at this prestigious event.
Ms. Fabien holds a Bachelor of Arts degree inChild Social and Personal Development from the CUNY Baccalaureate of Unique and Interdisplinary Studies and a Bachelor of Arts degree inPsychology from Brooklyn College.
In addition, she is currently employed as a Case Planner in Family Foster Care at Mercy First while pursuing a Masters Degree in Human Services.
Ms. Fabien also recently published her second book, a collection of Short Stories entitled ‘From “What No Cheese?” to What Might Have Been A collection of stories from different stages’.
