Junior Achievement Dominica to Continue Supporting Youth DEVELOPMENT
Chairman of JA – Junior Achievement Dominica, Mr. Orlando Richards, has said despite being a new NGO – Non-Government Organization, JA Dominica has made important strides that he hopes, can keep the organization relevant well into the future.
Speaking at the 5th Annual Directors meeting, Mr. Richards said that by articulating a regional strategy, Dominica is better positioned to identify shared social issues and developmental needs of local youth.
He also noted that Dominica needed the support of the network to heighten best practice in the delivery of local and regional opportunities and programming that was specific to the needs of the regions youths.
According to Mr. Richards, “With 32 Partners in The Americas alone, we feel like you are all routing for the success of the Youth of Dominica.”
He also noted that Junior Achievement Dominica must remain relevant as we teach young persons to own their “economic success”, as Junior Achievement plays an important role in contributing to the sustainability of Dominica.”
As an NGO, JA continues to work with partners to promote opportunities for Growth, that impact not just the lives of youth but transforms all those around them.
JA Dominica wishes to thank all the private sector partners, who are leading the way in accelerating opportunities for youth empowerment.
Junior Achievement Dominica provides training and internship opportunities for young students and college students that focus on Financial Literacy, Work Skills and Entrepreneurship.
Over 200 students have already benefited from JA Programming, in addition, 6 students have received Scholarship opportunities.
