Killing in Bataca
The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force has launched an investigation into the death of a man from Bataca, a village located in the Kalinago Territory.
John Tyson, 52 years old of Bataca, was found in an unconscious state in his home at Bataca, at about 1 a.m on Monday, January 13th 2014.
He had apparent wounds to his lower chin and one to the right side of his face.
He was pronounced dead by the District Medical Officer at the scene and the body was then transferred to the Princess Margaret Hospital.
The body is pending post mortem and a coroner’s inquest will be convened and investigations are ongoing.
This is the first killing on the Island for 2014.
