download24 year old Kimon Burns of Goodwill got a lucky break in court on Monday, when he received a small fine of $5,000 for intent to supply 4,566 grams of cannabis with a street value of $10,050.

He could have been fined up to $100,000 for the offence.

On May 23rd 2014 at Jolly Lane in Goodwill, Burns was arrested and later charged with possession and intent to distribute cannabis.

The facts indicated that about 5:30 am police had executed a search warrant at the defendant’s home.

On a table in the living room police found a black plastic bag containing 8 clear plastic bags with what appeared to be cannabis inside.

Another plastic bag containing the same substance was found in the bedroom, a white pail was found in the yard and a plastic bag was found in a stove.

The alleged cannabis later tested positive.

Burn’s attorney Joshua Francis told the court that his client had cooperated with police and assumed responsibility for his actions from the beginning.

The $5,000 is payable by November 26th 2014 or in default 6 months in prison.

On the charge of possession, Burns was reprimanded.

Magistrate Bernard Pacquette also presided over the matter.
