History was repeated on the night of Saturday March 1st 2014, when Dennison “Dice” Joseph won his seventh Calypso Monarch title in the grand final show attended by a massive crowd at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium.

He triumphed over nine competitors, who were all vying for the much coveted title.

The competitors were Leona Peters, Richard ‘Beno’ Christmas, Jamaal ‘Black Diamond’ Lloyd, Michael ‘Boople’ Lafleur, Julian ‘Superior Pickey’ Lockhart, John ‘The Wave’ Bruno and Webster ‘Webb’ Marie.

The Monarch excelled over Daryl “De Bobb” Bobb who placed second, Webster “Webb” Marie third and Derrick “Hunter” St. Rose fourth.

Musical accompaniments for the calypsonians were provided by the Swinging Stars band, while Alex Bruno and Franklyn Moses were the masters of ceremony.

Guest performances included the 2014 Junior Calypso Monarch, Lady B, Trendsetter, the 2014 Dominica Air and Sea Ports Authority’s Calypso Monarch, Peter ‘Mighty Pigtail’ Letang and King Scully of Grenada.
