Kings Hill Resident Isaiah Stevens Sentenced to Three Years
King shill resident Isaiah Stevens better known as Doctor Stone, was sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to three charges of theft and one charge of handling stolen goods, when he faced Magistrate Bernard Paquette on Friday July 12th.
According to the facts of the case between July 2nd to 3rd in Shawford, Stevens stole five pairs of gold earrings, one gold chain, one gold pendant and a Nintendo DS 3 among other jewelry valued at $3015.00 belonging to Susan Williams of Shawford.
He was also charged with handling stolen goods valued at $2610.00, the property of Susan Williams.
He was also charged for stealing one gold chain, gold earrings, a Kenneth Cole watch, a Nike air max sneaker and other jewelry all coming to a grand total of $6150.00, the property of Sylvia Robinson of Louisville.
The incident occurred in Louisville between June 27 and 28 2013. On June 14th in Castle Comfort, Stevens also stole one pair of gold earrings, one gold chain and a gold pendant valued at $1100.00, belonging to Isa Dorsette.
Reports were made by the owners who discovered the items missing and Stevens was subsequently arrested. During mitigation he denied stealing the items but did admit buying certain items from an unknown individual which he regrets.
Although he has a past record for similar offences, Stevens said that was his past and he works hard for all what he owns. He added the only reason he pled guilty was because the police told him to do so.
During the investigation, it was revealed that Stevens sold the Nintendo DS 3 to Cashwiz Pawn Shop in Roseau, as a receipt was found at his home during the execution of a search warrant. There was no separate penalty on the charge of handling stolen goods.
