Kiwanis club of essay presentation
Elisha Titre and Aaliyah Bellot of the Pierre Charles secondary school are the winners of the third annual Kiwanis club of Waitukubuli essay presentation competition.
The young ladies were elated to have won after putting what they say was a great effort into preparing for the competition and encourage other young person’s to participate as it is a rewarding experience.
This was the second part of the competition as there was an essay elimination process to select the finalists.
The three schools selected were the Pierre Charles secondary school, the st. Martin’s secondary school and the Dominica community high school.
The students discussed the topic ‘ the Waitukubuli national trail offers more than just three pillars in tourism- nature, culture and adventure.’, in the form of a power point presentation.
Mr. George Maxwell, of the ministry of tourism says that the competition was a success as the students did their best and that it is a good sight to see students partake in such constructive and positive activities.
Treasurer of the Kiwanis club of Waitukubuli says that the essay competition is geared towards promoting public speaking in youth while developing their writing and presentation skills.
Najwa Laflouf and Kelly- Anne Joseph of the st. Martin secondary school were awarded the second prize and Madgery Francis and Allie Joseph of the Dominica community high school won third prize.
