Kiwanis Club of Waitukubuli Donates Wheelchair to DAPD
The Kiwanis Club of Waitukubuli is striving to help those in need. They especially want to give support to the elderly and the disabled. On Wednesday November 7th, they decided to help out the Dominica Association of Persons with Disabilities (DAPD) by donating a wheelchair to them.
Ms. Conda Hamlet who represents the Kiwanis Club, says that the club has always wanted to give back to associations like these, because those are the associations that make meaningful contributions in the strangest of places.
The DAPD was glad to receive the wheelchair, and its Executive Director, Ms. Nathalie Murphy, says that she already knows what they are going to use it for.
The wheelchair will be used in the production of a series of videos highlighting the challenges faced by people to access the physical environment.
The DAPD says that there are also persons who are in great need of wheelchairs and this donation has come at the right time.
They hope that other groups of any sort will see the need to help institutions like theirs and donate in whatever way they can, either cash, kind, or gifts.
