Kiwanis Host End of Year Christmas Party
Representatives of the Club headed out to Grand Fond on Sunday December 15th, where they brought cheer to forty children of that community.
This was carried out as part of the Club’s annual Christmas party, targeting young children, where they are treated to a day of fun, games, toys, as well as party treats and eats.
The Club also made its third donation of clothes to needy members of the community.
Earlier in 2013, they visited the villages of San Sauveur and Petite Savanne where they made similar donations.
The Children’s Christmas party brings to a close a busy year for the Kiwanis of Roseau.
Other than their annual debates, the Club hosted two induction ceremonies of twenty new members. They also participated in service activities such as the Roseau River clean up, visited the Grotto, Children’s Ward at the Princess Margaret Hospital and churches visits and hosted pre-school reading days and puppet shows.
The Kiwanis also partnered with other organizations such as the HIV Unit, DAPD, Sign Man, Cash Whiz, Welfare Division, Child Abuse Unit, the Dental Community as well as the Joint Service Clubs for various projects.
When asked what propelled them towards so many ventures, the Club’s response was that, although giving can be hard work, giving is its own reward.
