Hundreds of Dominicans flooded independence street, in Roseau on February 13th, where the popular lagoon street jam, was held.

The event was a warm up to the carnival celebrations, to be held on February 20th and 21st.

Calypso and carnival fans enjoyed, the upbeat performances of over twenty calypsonians.

Four calypso finalists including webb, and reigning calypso monarch Tasha p, took to the stage with performances, of their 2012 calypsos.

Sye’s unique energetic style of performing, rocked the crowd as he danced and sang on stage.

In addition, newcomer Checko got a lively response, from the crowd with his upbeat calypso ‘am/pm’.

Other calypsonians included energizer, observer, mighty DBS who presented the crowd with energetic performances.

Female calypsonian Twana, was well received by the crowd, when she performed ‘for a man’, a calypso commenting on, women’s desire to please men,.

Sour sour, performed his 2011 song ‘yaw yaw’, that received a positive response from the crowd, along with unwanted’s song, ‘what they say they say’ and wuk sup’s ‘finger licking tasty chicken’.

The street jam wrapped up with, the traditional song ‘a nous alay, performed by the swinging stars.
