Launch of Michele Henderson’s Album
Dominican song star Michele Henderson launched her 6th album at the Old Mill Cultural Centre on Tuesday December 17th.
The album entitled ‘Chez Moi’ comprises of 13 songs written my Michele herself.
Mr. Sobers Esprit, Business Development Officer in the Creative Industries at the EDU, says he believes that the launch of the artist’s new album will be an exciting product for the music market.
“Michele has been a major part of the music landscape of Dominica and the Caribbean for several years”, he noted.
Ms. Natalie Clarke, Events Director of the Dominica Festivals Committee says the Government of Dominica needs to use artists like Michele to put Dominica on the face of the map.
Ms. Clarke highly praised the artist, noting that it was due to an initial performance of Michele’s that she took a further interest in the Island.
She stated that the network to promote young talent is already there, with places like the United States and Europe heading the industry. She also added that it is high time for us to understand the Caribbean States.
Husband and Producer of the album ‘Chez Moi’, Mr. Roland Delsol Jr. says a different approach was taken in the distribution of the album.
Currently there are online distributions of the song in segments of four tracks on www.michelemuzic.com. A hard copy of the CD will be out in time for the 2014 Creole festivities.
Meanwhile, the song bird herself thanked everyone who assisted her with the album, noting that it took several years to complete it.
Michele, through her label Michele Henderson Inc. has signed a distribution deal with Believe Digital, to distribute the album to major online and wireless digital stores including Itunes.
