Launch of Queen Contestant Royette Laurent
On Sunday January 12th, Portsmouth too welcomed its own Ms. Royette Laurent, a contender for this year’s Miss Dominica Queen pageant.
In a welcome fit for a queen, the community of Portsmouth celebrated Ms. Laurent, with a display of stilt walkers better known as ‘babbwa’ and pulsating Bouyon music, leading up to Burrow Square in the heart of the community.
He described her as ‘a very talented individual’.
Royette is not yet sponsored however; the Honourable Reginald Austrie says he would like to see the people of Portsmouth pull together their resources to ensure that Ms. Laurent if fully sponsored entering the pageant.
Royette will represent Portsmouth and the communities in the North of the Island.
