Lecture on Soil Management – Compost Technologies hosted by Dominica Agricultural Organic Movement
Those were the words of Dr. George Fitzpatrick at the lecture on soil management for organic farming last night at the Fort Young Hotel.
The Dominica Organic Agricultural Movement (DOAM) Inc and the Florida Association of Volunteer Action in the Caribbean and the Americas (FAVACA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MOAF) is hosting the lecture and workshop series from Monday July 18th to Friday July 22nd, 2011
The primary objectives of the workshop is to train participants in the techniques of soil nutrient management for tropical organic crop production systems and to provide intensive technical training at composting sites with potential to lead a composting industry.
The workshops begin at 9:00am daily and will be held at four locations across the island; Bellevue Chopin Tourist Information Centre, Calibishie Government School, Castle Bruce Sports Complex and La Plaine Agricultural Centre.
Registration for non-members is $30 and includes 1 year membership to Dominica Organic Agricultural Movement (DOAM).
DOAM members register for free. Meals and transportation will be provided for all participants.
