LIME Dominica headlines the Real Mas 2011 injecting $ 200,000.00 into the festivities
LIME Dominica Ltd is injecting approximately $ 200,000.00 in the Real Mas 2011, making them the headline sponsor for the island’s first major cultural event for the year.
The Real Mas 2011 was officially launched at the Fort Young Hotel on January 6th, 2011, spearheaded by Discover Dominica Authority, the Dominica Carnival Committee and the Government of Dominica, with the support of a number of other corporate sponsors.
Minister for Culture, Youth and Sports, Honorable Justina Charles encouraged Dominicans to support the event and to revel in peace, while being each other’s keeper.
Chairman of Discover Dominica Authority, Benoit Bardouille called on other corporate companies to support the event through sponsorship in cash or kind, as they seek to make the Real Mas 2011 a success.
Minister of Tourism, Honorable Ian Douglas says the Real Mas is part of a general thrust, in marketing the island as the premiere festival destination in the Caribbean.
He pledged the government’s support to the event, and called on Dominicans and supporters to plat their part in maintaining the quality and standard of the festivities.
The official opening parade is scheduled for February 13th, while the Princess Show will be held on February 20th followed by the Junior Monarch on February 25th, the Miss Teen Dominica on February 27th, the Miss Dominica Pageant on March 4th and the Calypso Monarch on March 5th.
Carnival Monday which will feature various electric bands the children’s parade and T-shirt bands will be held on March 7th while the costume band parade will culminate the activities on carnival Tuesday on March 8th, 2011.
