Literacy Week At The Goodwill Primary School

‘Hats off to reading’ shouted students of the Goodwill Primary school as they threw reading themed hand made hats into the air.

The school gathered together in the auditorium to display talent and reading skills in celebration of literacy week on March 23rd

Miss Charles, a teacher at the Goodwill School says that Literacy Week is not new to the school but this year special efforts were made to make it bigger and better.


Students put on skits, read poems, performed dances and read stories during the celebrations.


The classes were encouraged to present a story they read before the schools body.


Mrs. Lucila Lafond Charles, the representative of the National Cooperative Credit Union, the main sponsor of the event says that the cooperation is proud of the development of the reading program in the school.


Certificates were awarded to students who showed an improvement in reading on a grade level.


Following the student presentations, the celebrations culminated with a parade around the school during which the students chanted reading slogans.
