Lynah Bontiff Wins Dominica’s Next Supermodel Competition
After a night of fierce competition, 21 year old Calibishie native Ms. Lynah Bontiff emerged winner of “Dominica’s Next Supermodel,” held at Windsor Park Stadium on Friday May 10th.
Ten models took to the stage where they competed in four segments: introduction, swim wear, business attire or interview and high fashion.
Ms. Bontiff won the awards for best photo model, best spokes model in interview and best opening dance.
The top five models were Reshema James, Earlisha Brumant, Gholda James, Kersha Breezie, and Talia Celestine.
The award for Best Runway Model went to Kersha Breezie, Best Swimwear Model was Earlisha Brumant and Best High Fashion Model – Reshema James.
Ms. Bontiff is expected receive a trip to St. Marteen’s Fashion week, a trip to Antigua Fashion Extravaganza, make up supply by Mio Cosmetics, wardrobe by Casual Behavior including accessories, bags and shoes.
Other prizes include a one year modeling contract with Dominica’s Next Top Model Inc. and a professional photo shoot for portfolio and advertisement for Tempo water.
Chief Executive Officer of Dominica Next Top Model Incorporated, Ms. Ruth Augustine organizer of the event, said it was in an effort to showcase Dominican talent and to assist in equipping young and upcoming models with the necessary tools to survive in the modeling industry.
Ms. Augustine said, her inspiration to establish this organization came about, when aspiring models would seek advice from her as to how they should market themselves on an international level.
The much talked about show was attended by a large crowd, as it was the first of its kind here in Dominica.
