Major drug bust in Calibishie and Antigua
The Programme involved week long workshops in various districts around the Island the workshops facilitated by Cuban cultural trainer, Professor Aida Martin Rodriguez from Havana Cuba.
It was conducted with support from staff of the Division of Culture and organized by the Division of Culture and supported by ALBA Cultural.
At the ceremony Chief Cultural Officer Mr. Raymond Lawrence says, the training programme which ran over a three month period was indeed a success. A number of topics was covered some of which were; developing and managing cultural projects and programs and working with groups and communities.
Participants also had to come up with cultural projects of their own they would like to see implemented in their communities.
Cuban cultural trainer, Professor Aida Martin Rodriguez says this training programme was done to further strengthen ties with Dominica and protect Dominica’s culture.
Minister of Culture Youth and Sports Honourable Justina Charles urged the participants to take the information learned, to assist in planning of cultural activities and to improve the level of culture in Dominica.
Mrs. Charles went on to say that her Ministry saw the need to channel more funds into the development of culture on the island and will be doing so.
