Many Patrons Show Up for Creole Festival Meet and Greet With Artistes

Many people turned up at the Fort Young Hotel on Thursday October 25th as it was the for the Dominica Festival Committee’s Annual Meet and Greet.

The event which is hosted ahead of the World Creole Music Festival (WCMF), is done to get media personnel and others to familiarize themselves with the artistes who will perform at the WCMF.

Director of Tourism and Chief Executive Officer (C.E.O) of the Discover Dominica Authority Mr. Colin Piper says since the WCMF the month of October has been a month with a very high number of visitor arrivals.

In addition he gave thanks to the people of Guadeloupe and Martinique for their regular trips to Dominica, while encouraging them to increase such trips to the Nature Isle year round as we have a lot to offer.

Minister of Tourism and Legal Affairs, Honourable Ian Douglas says this meet and greet is very important as we need to set the stage for more interaction with our French counterparts.

Mr. Douglas also said that it is important that the elders teach the young people about the history, tradition and culture of Dominica so it will continue to blossom.

Events Director of the Dominica Festivals Committee, Mrs. Natalie Clarke-Meade says she is delighted that in the Caribbean we still celebrate our rich culture and we need to be all proud of who we are.

She went on to urge all Dominicans in addition to visitors to attend the WCMF as it is a celebration that should not be missed.

Some of the artistes present gave a sneak peak of the musical performance they will put on at the Festival.
